MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — Midland County Emergency Management and the Fire Marshal’s Office responded to a chemical fire on East Highway 80, near Impact Chemical Technologies on Wednesday, according to a county spokesperson.
At around 9:40 p.m., a City of Midland spokesperson confirmed that the fire was out.
One person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Midland County Fire Marshal Justin Bunch said the chemicals involved are not harmful to people or the environment.
However, community members were encouraged to avoid the area.
