MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — One person is dead and another is in jail following a Sunday morning crash in Midland County.

DPS responded to the area of West CR 140 and South CR 1200 just after 2:30 a.m. in response to a one-vehicle crash.

According to investigators, Armando Gonzalez, Jr., 26, of Divine, Texas was driving a Toyota Camry east on CR140 with two passengers.

Gonzalez reportedly disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of CR 140 and CR 1200 and lost control of the car. The car then struck a dumpster and fence.

One of the passengers, Noemi Gomez, 28, of Midland was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS also reports she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Neither Gonzalez nor the other passenger were injured in the crash.

Gonzalez was arrested and charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter and has been booked into the Midland County jail.

The crash is still under investigation by DPS.
