WINKLER COUNTY, Texas — A crash Wednesday morning backed up traffic along HWY 302.

The crash took place near the Black Mountain Sand-Vest Facility.

DPS said two truck-tractor/semi-trailers were traveling west on 302, one following the other around 5:45 a.m.

However, the semi-truck in the rear failed to control its speed and struck the one in front of it.

This caused the front truck to veer into the eastbound lane and strike another semi-truck head-on.

Altogether, four drivers were involved in the crash.

All four were taken to various hospitals, though DPS says all suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

Although viewers reported the crash caused a backup along Highway 302 all the way to Odessa, DPS says the scene is clear as of noon.
