72-year-old Odessa man in critical condition following hit and run

OPD are searching for 4 suspects in the burglary that led to the hit-and-run.

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - An Odessa man is in critical condition following a hit-and-run that occurred early Monday morning.

Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue were called to an alarm at the Smokers Outlet located at 51st Dixie, just after receiving a hit-and-run call around 5:45 a.m. in the same area.

According to police, four male subjects burglarized the Smokers Outlet then fled the scene in a white Chevrolet Impala, last seen traveling eastbound on 51st Street.

Witnesses reported the Chevrolet Impala speed eastbound on 51st Street and ran the stop sign at Clover before striking Manuel Aguilar Luevano, 72, in a maroon Buick LaCrosse northbound on Clover.

The impact caused the Chevrolet Impala to spin around.

The four suspects in the Chevrolet Impala made no attempt to render aid and fled the scene on foot.

Luevano was transported to Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries. There were no reports of any other injuries.

At this time no arrests have been made.
