LIVINGSTON, TX (KXXV) - A man was arrested for robbing a bank and then trying to flee the scene in a taxi in downtown Livingston Monday afternoon.

Livingston Police said that Thomas Holcomb, 34, robbed the First National Bank and ran away from the scene. Shortly after, Holcomb flagged down a cab.

The driver of the cab said Holcomb asked to stop at a liquor store. That's when the driver of the cab got a call from his cab company, informing him his passenger was likely the suspect who just robbed the bank.

The company told the driver not to panic. Around that time, the driver of the cab noticed a police car following his vehicle.

The police car lit up, and the driver of the cab was able to pull over.

Holcomb was arrested without incident.
