Roads closed in Sutton, Schleicher Counties due to flooding

Residents of Sutton County and Schleicher County experienced flooding due to rains all of Sept. 21.

(KWES) - UPDATE 09/22 1:07 P.M.: FM 2873 and RM 864 are still closed due to flooding.

RM 2596 has roadway damage, but is no longer closed. Travel with caution.

FM 2129 is also closed due to extensive damage.

Residents of Sutton County and Schleicher County experienced flooding due to rain on Sept. 21.

According to Texas Department of Transportation, roads that are closed due to flooding include RM 189, RM 1989, RM 2596, RM 915, FM 2873, RM 864 and RM 1674. You can keep updated with on road closures here.

I-10 and Hwy 277 were previously closed but have now re-opened, according to Sonora Police.

The San Angelo Area Foundation and Sonora Ministerial Alliance has set up a relief fund for those affected by the flooding. To donate, click here.

The B side of the Sonora Medical Clinic is open on Sept. 22 to help anyone who have lost their medications or sustained minor scrapes, bruises, muscle soreness, etc. in the flooding or rescue efforts in Sonora. For more information call 325-387-7911.
