The JLO program is 40-year-old program for junior-year high school students. Teens from Permian and Odessa High Schools, Falcon Early College High School, New Tech Odessa and OCTECHs can participate in this annual program.

Each yearly session begins in January with a retreat and is followed by four other sessions that cover subjects such as government and public safety, arts and culture, healthcare and media and education.

Each class is limited to 40 students, and each of these students needs a $200 sponsorship. In addition, sessions also need a food sponsor to provide dinner for the group.

The program is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and planned by each year’s Leadership Odessa class.

To sponsor a student, you can contact Lynn Van Amburgh by calling 432-333-7862 or emailing her at lynnva@odessachamber.com. To find more information on the JLO program you can click here.
