New ordinance restricts parking in Fort Stockton

FORT STOCKTON, TX (KWES) - The City of Fort Stockton, City Council recently passed an ordinance restricting the parking for RV’s in response to several citizen complaints on the matter.

The Fort Stockton Police Department is tasked with enforcing laws but the city asks for the public’s help letting your friends, family and neighbors know.

The rule states it is now “unlawful to park any vehicle, truck, trailer, boat, recreational vehicle, or other type of delivery truck with a load carrying capacity of more than one (1) ton on any street or alley within the city limits; provided that nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent such vehicles or trailers with a load carrying capacity of more than one (1) ton from parking on a city street or alley when such parking is necessary for unloading or loading in connection with deliveries or pickups, or for a maximum period of seventy-two (72) hours during a thirty-day period.”
