MIDLAND - Despite state education funding cuts, high tech tools are being used in Midland classrooms.

With the help of grants, iPads are being used by students at Carver Center as well as the Lee High Academic Decathlon Team.

The goal is to put them in more schools as more funding becomes available.

They can be used as helpful study tools and to store textbooks.

The district also plans to test out the Nimbus Technology System in at least one campus this Spring.

It allows online interaction between students and teacher.

By this fall, about half of all Midland schools will have Wi-Fi thanks to federal funding.
