MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Midland Fire Department, the Professional Fire Fighters Association of Midland and the Subaru of Midland Odessa are showing their support for the Muscular Dystrophy Association with their Fill the Boot campaign.
The campaign kicked off at 10 a.m. on Monday at Subaru of Midland Odessa and will run until 6 p.m. and the selected intersections. Fire fighters will also be out from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 24 and April 25.
The campaign will be present at the following intersection locations:
- Midkiff Road and Wadley Avenue
- Midland Drive and Loop 250
- Midland Drive and Andrews Highway
- Garfield Street and Golf Course Road
Funds raised through Fill the Boot will go toward helping the MDA save lives by providing vital resources and funding research and life-enhancing programs for those suffering from muscular dystrophy. In addition, around 40 local kids will get sent to the MDA summer at no cost to their families thanks to these donations.
The International Association of Fire Fighters has partnered with MDA since 1954 and has raised over $650 million for the organization.
