BIG SPRING - A hot button issue in Big Spring regarding term limits of City Council members.

The Texas Board of the League of United Latin American Citizens has weighed in with their opinion.

They say the minority community in Big Spring is against term limits.

The organization says minority members on the board keep getting re-elected because the citizens want them there and term limits could mean minorities won't be able to have their voices heard.

Big Spring Mayor Tommy Duncan ran his mayoral campaign on the promise of setting a two-term limit for City Council members.

Many officials have been waiting for LULAC's reaction.

And their opposition is likely to force the City Council to rethink their stance on the limits.
