LOVINGTON, NM (KWES) - A Lovington man is in jail after he called in a bomb threat at a local Family Dollar store.
Aaron Gutierrez, 26, has been charged with the offense of Bomb Scares Unlawful, which is punishable by up to 18 months in jail.
Lovington police responded to the phone-in bomb threat made against the Family Dollar store on 1313 North Main Street on February 25.
Investigators determined Gutierrez’s girlfriend worked at the store and he had phoned in the bomb threat to get her off of work.
Gutierrez was booked into the Lea County Detention Center but is currently out on release and has at least one other felony case awaiting trial.
