ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Authorities are investigating after following a morning accident in Odessa.

The accident happened Wednesday morning in the 500 block of Cabrillo Drive.

Authorities tell NewsWest9, the driver, for an unknown reason, crashed into a home and the crash caused a fire.

Odessa Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Kevin Jackson tells NewsWest9, three fire engines, two medical units and 22 total personnel were called out to the scene.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire.

Homeowner Johnny Bencomo tells NewsWest 9, "I came out to the living room and when I looked out the front there was a truck crashed in the window and it's on fire, very large flames coming out of the truck."

Bencomo says he made an attempt to put out the flames engulfing both the vehicle and home, he says tires started popping, and the driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries but about 30% of the home was damaged.

The Bencomo family will not be able to stay in their home until electricity is restored.
