Two women dead, one injured in triple shooting near North Star Mall

All three of the women were taken to the hospital in critical condition but two have died, police say.

SAN ANTONIO — Two young women have died and another woman is in critical condition following a triple shooting near North Star Mall Sunday morning, police say.

Just before 6 a.m., Castle Hills Police responded to the access road of Blanco and Loop 410 after receiving a call for a car parked in the center lane.

Police said they found a woman in the street with a gunshot wound to her head, along with two other gunshot victims in the car. There were also multiple shell casings from a suspected rifle and handgun found at the scene, police said. 

All three of the women were taken to the hospital in critical condition but two have died, police say.

One victim was identified by the Medical Examiner as 18-year-old Kennedi Eunece Braziel. The other was identified as 19-year-old D'Yani Amajanique Denise Thomas.

Officials said an investigation is underway, and they are currently looking for the shooters. The eastbound frontage road at 410 and Blanco will be shut down for a few hours while the crime scene is processed.
