MIDLAND-ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Salvation Army shelters is both Midland and Odessa want to remind the public that on nights where the temperature drops below freezing, anyone in need is welcome to a warm place to stay and a hot meal.

On freezing nights the shelter holds what they call “cold nights” which means those in need do not have to register for any crisis care programs at the shelter and can still stay warm until temperatures warm up.

Interested parties will still need to present a valid photo I.D. to get into the shelter.

Inside the shelters, dinner is served at 6 p.m. and doors are closed at 9 p.m.

Officials at the organization also want to remind the public that donations such as towels, sheets, blankets and pillows are always appreciated and go a long way in dealing with cold nights,
