REEVES COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A Lancaster man is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Reeves County.

DPS responded to an accident 20 miles south of Pecos around 1:25 p.m. on January 10.

According to DPS, a 2009 International truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling south on State Highway 17. Another vehicle, uninvolved with the accident, was traveling directly behind the truck tractor.

Saeed Muhammad, 25, was also driving southbound on SH 17 in a 2007 Peterbilt truck a distance behind the other two vehicles.

Investigation revealed the uninvolved vehicle had slowed down so the truck tractor could turn left into a saltwater disposal. Muhammad drove around the uninvolved vehicle but rolled onto its side and struck the trailer the truck tractor was towing.

Muhammad was pronounced dead on scene. He was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.
