A longer than usual line wrapped around the Zilker Zephyr miniature train station on Sunday in South Austin. The large crowd was the result of free rides on the train as part of Zilker Park's 100th Anniversary celebration.

Nazley Fuller has never seen such a line.

"It's super busy," said a shocked Fuller.

Entrance fees at Barton Springs Pool and the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum were also waived for the day.

Eight-year-old, Will Aycock, thought it was pretty cool.

"That's awesome because I know it costs a little. It doesn't cost much but it's kind of expensive for a train so I feel happy for my dad," said Aycock.

It usually cost $3 for adults and $2 for kids.

Visitors experiencing the free day were impressed.

"The pool, the train, everything looks really exciting so we're excited to explore it. Even on a chilly day," said Alison Roberts as she laughed.

An installation on the great lawn allows people to stand and be the "one" next to two 5-foot lime green zeros, as part of the 100th anniversary of Zilker Park.

Zilker Park is also home to the Zilker Hillside Theater, the Nature and Science Center, a playground and the Sunshine Camp.

In 1917, Andrew Zilker donated 350 acres of private land that was turned into public parkland, where Zilker sits today.
