ODESSA, Texas — Summertime in the Permian Basin means triple-digit temperatures, which for certain groups of people can be deadly.

Disabled and elderly are at high risk for health complications due to the heat. This means if you know someone in one of these categories, checking in on them during particularly during the record-breaking days could be life-saving.

To help combat this issue, the City of Odessa and LifeSpan Home Care are holding a city-wide fan drive.

Fan drives can be dropped off at the City Manager's Office on the fifth floor of City Hall as well as the LifeSpan Offices at 2626 JBS Parkway, Suite B-110. These fans will later be distributed to those in need.
