JEFF DAVIS COUNTY - After more than a week and a half, the wildfires burning in Jeff Davis County are finally giving firefighters a much need break.
The Livermore Ranch Fire is now 70 percent contained and fire crews are being released to go back home.
Firefighters have been fighting the flames from that fire and the Spring Mountain Fire for 12 days.
Both of those blazes were sparked by dry lightning strikes.
The Livermore Fire forced residents living in the Davis Mountain Resort to evacuate their homes.
Crews spent the day monitoring fire lines on both fires.
Firefighters are still on the ground near the Davis Mountain Resort keeping watch on homes.
No structures were ever damaged by the wildfires and residents have been allowed back.
