BIG SPRING - Low enrollment numbers could cost Howard College a large chunk of their funding.

The cuts are due to the new way the state gives money to community colleges.

Instead of giving every two years, funding is now done on a year-to-year basis and enrollment numbers are key.

College President Cheryl Sparks says the Big Spring campus could lose as much as $900,000 next year.
