Vehicle stolen in Midland leads to 5 arrests in Big Spring

Charges range from theft of a firearm and burglary of a habitation to possession of a controlled substance.

BIG SPRING, Texas — Multiple agencies were involved in a series of arrests in Big Spring on November 20.

According to Big Spring police, a black Dodge that had been reported stolen out of Midland was located at a home in the 2200 block of Monticello Street.

At the time the vehicle was stolen, there were also multiple guns taken from the same house in Midland.

Police had been working with the Howard County Sheriff's Office and the Midland Police Department in a joint investigation.

After the vehicle was found, BSPD, HCSO abd DOS set up a perimeter and attempted to make contact with those inside. 

Only one person exited the house, leading to a search warrant being issued. HCSO's SWAT team and Big Spring police executed the search warrant.

Inside officers found stolen property from multiple burglaries, all of which have been returned to their rightful owners. Heroin and methamphetamine were also found inside the residence.

Police arrested five people and says the investigation is ongoing.

Allan Ward, 46, has been charged with unauthorized use of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and theft of a firearm.

Thomas Bolton, 37, was arrested on an aggravated robbery warrant and a burglary of a habitation warrant.

Krystal Buchanan, 36, was charged with failure to appear/bail jumping.

Marty Evans, Jr., 29, has been charged with parole violation.

Anastasia Coker, 23, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Big Spring police say they anticipate more charges to follow and additional arrests to be made.
