MIDLAND - We normally depend on firefighters to rescue and help us in our most desperate time of need.

But in a twist, two Midland firefighters needed some help of their own.

A fundraiser was held on Friday to support Captain Lee Wise and Tommy Cook, two firefighters who are both battling cancer.

But they weren't looking for money, they were looking for blood.

For every blood donation to United Blood Services, $25 was donated to an account to help the men.

All of the donations made at the donor center went toward helping the men with their rising medical bills.

If you weren't able to make it out on Friday, you can still help the men in red.

We've provided a link on our website that will help.
