ODESSA, Texas — The week after Easter was a relatively easy one for health inspectors in the Permian Basin. Midland had no low performers for the week of April 22 through April 26 but had a couple of top performers. Meanwhile, Odessa had no top performers and one low performer.

La Toreada Taco House at 308 W. University Blvd. in Odessa was cited for the following:

- Hot holds not keeping food warm enough
- Cold holds not keeping food cool enough
- Facility not maintained, cleaned
- No certified food manager
- Some food not properly labeled/date-marked
- Employees eating/drinking
- Food not separated & protected during preparation

This resulted in the health inspector giving La Toreada an 85 on their inspection.

As we mentioned, Midland had a few restaurants with perfect scores for the week. Here’s a look at Midland’s top performers:

- Basin Dickson BBQ (3323 N. Midland Dr.)
- Evelyn’s Bakery (1801 Rankin Hwy.)
- Pizza Hut (2200 W. Wadley Ave.)
