Wake up with Tate Owen every morning on NewsWest 9 Sunrise.

Tate wears multiple hats! She spends her mornings reporting on the Permian Basin's traffic conditions to make your morning commute smoother.

In the afternoons, you can find her shooting and editing a story for the next day! She's a multi-skilled journalist -- that means she's her own cameraman.

As an Odessa native, Tate is proud to be reporting on her hometown and surrounding areas.

She graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism.

During her time at the University of North Texas, Tate anchored a morning show on the student-run, award-winning station, North Texas Television. There, she discovered a true love and passion for multimedia story telling.

One of the things she is most excited about being back is having the opportunity to revisit her Alma Mater… Permian High School. Go Mojo!

When Tate is not swimming in news, she enjoys binge watching Netflix, listening to podcasts- specifically ‘Crime Junkies’, or her favorite hobby- photography.

Tate would love to hear all your story ideas, big and small!
