MIDLAND, Texas — Krista Escamilla is excited to join the NewsWest 9 team as the 4 and 5 p.m. anchor.
As an Associated Press Award winning journalist, she has worked in television news in California, Missouri and Florida but proud to have spent the last 24 years in the West Texas area.
In 2010, Krista was recognized for fair and balanced reporting by the Midland Independent School District and honored by the state of Texas as a member of the Media Honor Roll.
She serves the community as an emcee for many non-profit groups and is a public speaker who loves to help others achieve their dreams.
Faith and Family are at the heart of Krista’s life, they are her “WHY”!
Krista and her husband Al have four kids; Austin, a recent Rice University graduate, Aspen, a Junior at Lubbock Christian University, Alexandra, a freshman at Lubbock Christian University and Alex, an 8th grader at Trinity School.
Krista’s hobbies include watching her kids play golf, reading, yoga and running.
Her favorite quote is "Dream Big, Believe in Yourself and Never Give Up." If you do these three things, anything is possible.
