Nimitz Students selected to send science experiment to space

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Tuesday, Ector Country Independent School District announced that a few Nimitz students who designed a science experiment will be sending their project to space.

They were placed in a competition and were one of three E.C.I.S.D. finalists in the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program. The other two being O.C.T.E.C.H.S. and Falcon Early College High School.

All three schools will have their experiments conducted by an astronaut abroad the International Space Station next summer.

They will also attend the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP) National Conference in Washington, D.C. where they will be able to conduct their experiments and watch featured presentations by nationally recognized scientists, engineers and astronauts.

The S.S.E.P. National Conference will be hosted by the National Center of Earth and Space Science Education.
