From the Texas Department of Transportation:
The National Weather Service forecast says that rain and freezing rain is likely this afternoon in the Odessa-Midland area with the temperature falling to around 30 by 5 p.m. in the northern and central Permian Basin.
Tonight, the forecast indicates that freezing rain is likely, mainly before 1 a.m., with a low around 27. New ice accumulation of less than a tenth of an inch is possible.
Drivers should expect occasional icing on wet roads overnight as temperatures fall below freezing.
Remember, bridges and overpasses are the first to freeze.
Drivers should slow down and drive at speeds appropriate to existing road conditions. Leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
