BIG SPRING - An eye sore no more.

So says the Big Spring City Council.

The City Council has voted unanimously on a new sign ordinance.

All billboards will be prohibited in the downtown area.

They'll be restricted along Business 20 and FM 700, as well as on I-20.

The council agreed to stick with the storage container ordinance they approved last Tuesday.

Storage structures are allowed, but they must be either tan or beige or match the color of the building.

The storage ordinance is currently in effect.

There's a public hearing in April on the sign law.
