MIDLAND - A drive down Midland City streets may now result in a little less stop and go.

"Better traffic light synchronization traveling through town better travel time from point A to point B," City of Midland Transportation Manager Gary Saunders, said.

The new system uses a Traffic Management Center that allows monitoring of all 117 intersections.

"In the traffic management system that we are standing in right now we can many times adjust and correct the problems without ever sending a tech to the site," Saunders said.

The new system hopes to make your commute a little less congested and maybe even a bit faster.

"Less stops less delays and that in turn means better gas savings and less emissions," Saunders added.
