BIG SPRING - A Catholic church in Big Spring has a unique problem. They have a congregation of bats.
"Maybe these bats just want to be saved or maybe they just want to be Catholics," Monsignor Bernard Gully said.
It is not just a bat or two hanging around.
"We have hundreds maybe thousands," Gully said.
Church officials say some of the bats seemed to have migrated to Mexico and the ones that have stayed they have tried to lock out when they go to feed
"I know farmers think they are great, they give them something to eat which is great, we just don't want to give them a home," he said.
The Church is now in its second week of closure, and services have been moved to Immaculate Heart of Mary.
