Midland Police Department Searching for New Officer Candidates

MIDLAND - The Midland Police Department is looking to fill vacancies for the position of Police Officer.

On Saturday, Feb. 21st, 2009, at 1:00p.m. potential candidates will be tested with a physical and written examination.

All interested candidates are asked to report to the Midland Police Department for testing.  Candidates must have either 60 hours or a combination of college and relevant work experience (military, corrections, or previous Law Enforcement.)  Candidates are also asked to bring their social security card and State Identification (Driver's License).

Candidates who meet the above requirements will first take the written test.  Those that pass will then take the physical fitness test which consists of push-ups, sit-ups, and a 1.5 mile run.

The testing is in an effort to fill the August 2009 Police Academy.

The Midland Police Department currently has 20 positions available for officers.
