New Crime Lab on the Way to Hobbs, New Mexico

HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - A new crime lab is on its way to Hobbs and will include two forensic scientists.

The lab is a joint effort by Governor Bill Richardson, State Lawmakers, the City of Hobbs, and Lea County.

An existing city building is being renovated to make way for an instrument room, exam room, storage, office space, and a large vehicle processing bay.

The director tells us, they'll begin using the lab during the next several weeks.

The state of New Mexico and Lea County are funding the lab.
