Fatal Accident Near Fort Stockton Blamed on High Winds and Blowing Dust

NEAR FORT STOCKTON - Investigators blame high winds and heavy dust for a fatal accident near Fort Stockton on Interstate 10.

Troopers tell NewsWest 9, between 10 and 15 cars were involved in the crash on Tuesday night.

An Alabama woman, Terri Logan Trest, was killed when the car she was riding in was smashed in between two big rigs.

Her husband, William, was driving.

He's listed in stable condition at Medical Center Hospital.

Another man was also hurt, but his injuries were minor.

Troopers tell us Tuesday's high winds whipped up a lot of dust, making it impossible to see on the interstate.

They tell us there was zero visibility.
