Two Arrested After Armed Robbery in Big Spring

BIG SPRING - Two Big Spring residents are behind bars after an armed robbery. Big Spring Police say it happened at the T.A. Travel Center on West I-20 Tuesday night around 11:30.

Police say two people, a woman and a man, robbed the clerk and fled the scene. The clerk said the woman came to the counter, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The man and woman than left the store and fled in a red vehicle.

Howard County deputies spotted a vehicle matching that description minutes later. Deputies arrested 35-year-old Lana Martinez and 53-year-old Garland Green. Money was found on both suspects, but the gun was not located.

Authorities say Martinez had drugs on her and Green had drug paraphernalia. Both were charged with Aggravated Robbery. Martinez was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Green was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
