Despite a wilting economy, Fancy Flowers is thriving.

"People say its on Saturday, the economy, you get kinda scared but no its no different this year people are still buying," Fancy Flowers Owner, Leena Paredes, said.

"I talk to alot of people that are in the same business I am in and they say its going to be stretched but its going to be a good Valentines Day," Paredes said .

However, others say Valentines Day this year is a little less of a big deal.

"I am not celebrating it like last year, but I did buy some perfume," One Midlander said.

Others say it's the thought that counts.

"I am sending out even more this year to my granddaughter and my niece," another Midlander said.
