No murder charge for two people in connection with the death of a Carlsbad woman, but they're not out of the woods.
31-year-old Kaci Easter and 34-year-old Billy Maples of Carlsbad are charged with voluntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, and false imprisonment.
Police tell us, Easter called them about a body inside the garage of a Hobbs home.
After checking it out, officers found 26-year-old Jennifer Cox's body.
They tell us Maples was inside the house at the time.
When police went to question him, a standoff started, but eventually Maples was arrested.
Investigators say all three people knew each other and methamphetamines were involved.
