Midland Asks Residents to Not Water Outdoors

MIDLAND - Midland residents are being asked to not water outdoors later this month.

The city will be replacing an outdated electrical switchgear and connecting new pumping equipment at the Water Purification Plant. In order to do the work, the plant will have to be shutdown.

Residents should not notice a difference in water service, but they are being asked to not water outdoors from February 9th to February 21st.

The city has also asked large water users like MISD, Midland College and the City Park's Department to not water outdoors as well.

Residents may notice lower water pressure if the request is ignored.

The work is part of a $20.8 million project at the Water Purification Plant to improve water pressure on the north and west sections of the city.
