ODESSA - An Odessa woman is dead and another is in the hospital after an accident Friday night in Odessa.
It happened just before 10:30 near the intersection of Grant and 2nd Street.
Police say a truck driven by 31-year-old Bartolo Avalos-Hernandez of Odessa was traveling north on Grant at a high rate of speed and slammed into the back of a PT Cruiser that was also heading north on Grant.
The driver of the Cruiser, Ruthie Miller of Odessa, was taken to Medical Center Hospital in serious condition. Miller's passneger, Tammie Huff of Odessa, was taken to Medical Center Hosptial where she later died.
Odessa Police are still investigating the crash.
