MIDLAND - NewsWest 9 has told you about all the changes coming to downtown Midland, and this week it's on the way.
The City of Midland will begin demolishing the old police department building on east Texas Street.
It was built in 1954 and housed the jail, police, and fire departments.
It's been empty for almost 20 years, serving as a storage spot for city records and police evidence.
The demolition is expected to take about two weeks, and clean up will last until mid-February.
