Two convicted sex offenders are headed back to prison after failing to register.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says 34-year-old Alejandro Pena and 22-year-old Dustin Slater crossed state lines and failed to notify authorities where they were living.

Pena moved from Colorado to Crane. Slater left a Colorado half-way house and moved to Midland.

Officials say Thursday's sentences send a loud and message that sex offenders who refuse to register will go back behind bars.
