ODESSA - The Walgreens mobile healthcare clinic has arrived in Odessa.

"I am just going through the health screening because you just can never be too careful with your health," Victor Everheart said.

The Odessa/Midland area is just one stop of 300 cities Nationwide for the clinic on wheels.

"It is crossing the nation to provide free health screenings to local communities we check glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index, waist circumference and bone density," Erin Kavanagh with Walgreens, said.

The process is quick and easy, in and out in just a few minutes.  Test results are instant and everything is free, the only requirement is that you have to be 18 or older.

"If you were to get this screenings elsewhere it would run you about 115 dollars," Kavanagh said.

Kavanagh says with rising healthcare costs, the program now in its fourth year is gaining popularity.

"Actually we were four buses last year and this year we have ten buses this year so it is much bigger," Kavanagh said.

The screenings are not meant to take the place of a doctor visit, but it is just a way people can monitor their health.

"It is a pretty convenient thing to have, I really appreciate it," Everheart said.

The bus will be at a different Walgreens each day in Midland or Odessa until Monday.
