PECOS - Business owners in Pecos are putting their foot down.

Out-of-town vendors are cramping their sales and don't even pay taxes.

Mayor Richard Alligood tells NewsWest Nine, vendors used to come around during the rodeo and town events, but now they're on just about every vacant city lot.

It was a main topic of discussion at last week's city council meeting.

Now, the city attorney is reviewing the case by businesses who are calling for vendor inspections and a mandatory sales tax.

City leaders will revisit the issue during the next meeting.
