MIDLAND - Your morning commute should be getting a lot smoother if you live in Midland.

The city is preparing to start using a new automated traffic management system.

The system will control 117 intersections in the city and will synchronize the traffic lights.

The city will also be able to make changes to lights based on traffic and peak hours.

Midland drivers should start noticing changes by the end of February.
