REEVES COUNTY - Reeves County is taking steps to keep another riot from happening at the Reeves County Detention Center.

It was late last year when prisoners rioted for hours and burned down a recreation building at the facility.

This week, Reeves County Commissioners approved spending $70,000 dollars on new fencing.

That project will enclose the walkways from the housing unit to the recreation yard.

Officials say that will keep inmates moving from one location to the other and keep them from wandering off.
