Local Hospitals Announce "Tobacco Free" Policy

A new policy is stomping out tobacco use in hospitals across the Permian Basin.  

Midland Memorial Hospital, Odessa Regional Medical Center, and Medical Center Hospital announced a tobacco free policy on their three campuses on Tuesday afternoon.  

It goes into effect july first.  

All types of tobacco are banned, including cigarettes and snuff.

The policy will extend to all employees, doctors, patients and visitors, and will even extend to private offices that are leased or owned by the hospitals.
