PECOS - The battle across West Texas to combat rabies continues on Monday in Pecos.

The Texas Department of State Health Services will drop more than 2 million pellets of dog food from a small plane, leaving out of the Pecos airport at dawn on Monday morning.

The bait is filled with a rabies vaccine---when gray foxes take it, the vaccine will immunize them from the disease.

After the air drop in Pecos, the state will move the project to Del Rio on January 19th.
