MIDLAND/ODESSA - Another bumper month for Odessa and Midland in sales tax revenue.
Midland collected almost two million dollars in sales tax revenue in January.
That figure is based on November sales, and people spent more money this past November than in 2007, sales tax revenue rose almost 12 percent.
And total sales tax revenue for the 2008-2009 fiscal year is up more than 20 percent compared to last year.
Odessa also seeing almost two million dollars in sales taxes for January.
The Odessa figures also reflect November sales and that tax revenue increased 8 percent compared to last year.
The sales tax figure for the fiscal year rose in Odessa as well by almost 16 percent.
