Up at the crack of dawn to help fight rabies.

Pilots are flying over a number of counties, dropping nearly three million pieces of rabies vaccine bait.

The Texas Department of State Health Services sponsored the flights.

The State hopes the bait will stunt the growth of rabies in gray foxes and coyotes.

Wednesday marked the first round of flights.

They'll continue throughout the month.
