AUSTIN - An increasing number of children are using cell phones and that's raising concerns with Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott.

On Tuesday in Dallas, the State Attorney General encouraged parents to purchase and use tools that can help protect kids from harmful content and sexual predators.

Abbott says parents should be just as concerned about cell phone use as they are about computer use.

"It is a fact that child predators communicate with teens on devices like this, trying to set them up so that they can sexually assault those teens," Abbott said.

Abbott wants Texas to require sex offenders to register all electronic identification information, including e-mail addresses and mobile telephone numbers.
