Pecos Hotel-Motel Tax Suspended

PECOS - If you are headed to Pecos and plan on staying in a motel expect to pay a little less.

Four years ago the city voted on a two percent hotel tax to be used for renovations at the rodeo arena. But now, the Texas Attorney General is putting on the brakes.

The problem is the city was supposed to use that money within one year of the vote. Now, it may reappear on a ballot this coming May.

City officials are waiting to hear from the Attorney General. Until that time, they'll be suspending that motel tax.
